Char Shryock

Char Shryock is Director of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction for Bay Village City Schools in Ohio. In her 29 years as an educator, she has taught secondary science and English and served as a technology integration specialist. Advocacy around equity and a commitment to high learning standards has driven her professional work for the past 6 years. She has served as the PARCC Educator Leader Cadre state lead for Ohio, Chaired the PARCC OWG for Speaking and Listening Tools, served on the Ohio Senate Advisory Committee for Testing, joined the Ohio Learning Forward Board, and regularly attends Ohio Standards Coalition meetings. Her current work as a Collaborative for Student Success Fellow and State Lead for the Ohio Standards Advocates centers on the Instructional Shifts that are part of CCR standards. The Ohio PTA recognized her advocacy work by awarding her the Golden Oak Award in 2016. Char regularly presents at local, state and national conferences.
