Freelance Copy Editor   

CenterPoint is searching for Freelance Copy Editors / Proofreaders to support our assessment, curriculum, and professional learning work on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread CenterPoint content, including assessment items, client reports, curriculum material, and instructional resources, identifying and correcting spelling, grammar, and punctuation issues
  • Review material for readability and to ensure adherence to CenterPoint style guides and client requirements
  • Recommend updates to style guides and copy-editing process, as needed
  • Check for proper functionality of items on a range of assessment platforms, documenting issues as identified
  • Format materials, as needed

Qualifications

  • Commitment to CenterPoint’s values
  • Experience working in production and/or editing is preferred
  • Stellar editing skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style, a must
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Comfort with technology required (some copy-editing tasks will be done directly in our item bank platform)
  • Very detailed oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience in education, specifically assessment or curriculum, a plus
