Kathleen Vasquez

K-12 Literacy and Social Studies Program Manager, Seattle Public Schools

Kathleen Vasquez has served as a passionate advocate and educator in urban schools for the past 24 years, beginning her career as a high school English teacher. In her current position as the K-12 Literacy and Social Studies Program Manager for Seattle Public Schools, Kathleen supports school leaders and teachers in their efforts to improve teaching and learning in English Language Arts and Social Studies. Kathleen has also served on both the Washington State Reading and Writing Assessment Leadership Teams, developed curriculum for the state’s exit exam preparation course, and worked as a high school literacy coach. Prior moving to Washington State, she worked at San Francisco Unified School District, where she was honored with the Milken Educator Award and the Stanford Inspiring Educator Award for her teaching and leadership.
